Privacy Policy
Last updated: 29 July 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how PalmGive ("we", "us") collects, uses, and protects your personal data when you use our Platform, in line with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.
PalmGive is operated by Jebaco Global Ltd, a company registered in the United Kingdom.
1. What Data We Collect
- Account information: name, email address, postcode/area, phone number.
- Listing information: item descriptions, categories, condition, and photos you upload as a Donor.
- Claim information: name, postcode, phone number, and preferred collection details you provide as a Recipient.
- Volunteer information: name, email, area, and availability if you sign up to volunteer.
- Usage data: basic technical data such as browser type and general location, collected automatically for security and analytics purposes.
2. How We Use Your Data
We use your data to:
- create and manage your account;
- display your listings to potential Recipients;
- connect Donors and Recipients so items can be arranged for collection;
- review and approve listings before they go live;
- contact you about your account, a listing, or a claim;
- maintain the safety and integrity of the Platform;
- produce anonymised impact statistics (e.g. total items donated, families supported).
3. Sharing Your Data
When you claim an item, we share your name, postcode, and phone number with the Donor so the exchange can be arranged, and vice versa. This is necessary for the Platform to function — by claiming or listing an item, you consent to this limited sharing.
We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We may share data with service providers who help us run the Platform (for example, hosting and email providers), under appropriate data protection terms. We may disclose data if required by law, or to protect the safety of our users.
4. Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active, and for a reasonable period afterward to resolve disputes, enforce our Terms, and comply with legal obligations. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time (see Section 6).
5. Data Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including access controls and encryption where appropriate. However, no online platform can guarantee complete security, and you share information at your own risk.
6. Your Rights
Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you;
- request correction of inaccurate data;
- request deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten");
- object to or restrict certain processing;
- request a copy of your data in a portable format.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at hello@palmgive.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
7. Cookies
Our website may use essential cookies to keep you logged in and remember basic preferences. We do not use cookies for third-party advertising.
8. Children's Privacy
The Platform is not intended for use by anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be highlighted on the Platform.
