Terms of Service

PalmGive is a free community platform that connects people who wish to donate unwanted items ("Donors") with people who wish to receive them ("Recipients"). We are a platform only. We do not own, inspect, store, deliver, or take possession of any item listed on the Platform, and we are not a party to any exchange between a Donor and a Recipient.

All items listed on PalmGive are offered completely free of charge. Donors may not request payment for an item. Recipients may voluntarily agree to cover reasonable delivery or postage costs, but this must be a private arrangement between the Donor and Recipient — PalmGive does not process or handle any such payments.

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account, donate an item, or claim an item on the Platform.

Donors are solely responsible for the accuracy of their listings, including the description, condition, and safety of any item offered. Donors must not list items that are unsafe, recalled, counterfeit, stolen, or prohibited by law (including but not limited to items subject to safety recalls, weapons, or hazardous materials). All listings are reviewed before publication and are typically approved or rejected within 24–48 hours. We reserve the right to remove any listing at our sole discretion, at any time, without explanation.

Claiming an item does not create any contract between the Recipient and PalmGive. It creates, at most, an informal arrangement directly between the Donor and Recipient. Donors and Recipients are solely responsible for arranging, and carrying out, the collection or delivery of items, including agreeing on time, place, and method.

We strongly recommend that all exchanges take place in a public, open, and well-lit location, and that you take sensible precautions (for example, telling someone else where you are going, or bringing a friend or family member) when meeting someone you do not know. We do not verify the identity of Donors or Recipients beyond the information they choose to provide, and we do not conduct background checks.

To the fullest extent permitted by law: PalmGive makes no warranty or representation about the safety, quality, condition, legality, or fitness for purpose of any item listed on the Platform.

PalmGive is not liable for any loss, damage, injury, illness, dispute, or other harm arising from an item itself, or from any interaction, meeting, collection, or delivery between a Donor and a Recipient, whether arising from the condition of the item, the conduct of any user, or any other cause. Users use the Platform, and arrange and carry out exchanges, entirely at their own risk.

You agree not to: use the Platform for any commercial or resale purpose; harass, threaten, or behave abusively toward any other user, volunteer, or team member; repeatedly fail to show up for an agreed collection without notice; provide false information when listing, claiming, or registering. We reserve the right to suspend or remove any account that breaches these Terms.

Volunteers who help review listings, moderate the Platform, or otherwise assist PalmGive do so on an unpaid, voluntary basis and are not employees or agents of PalmGive in a way that creates additional liability on PalmGive's part for their actions beyond what is set out in these Terms.

The PalmGive name, logo, and website content (excluding user-submitted listings and photos) belong to PalmGive. You retain ownership of any photos or descriptions you submit, but grant us a licence to display them on the Platform for the purpose of operating the service.

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Platform after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
